About Us

La Jolla Piano Institute, offering the most thorough training in the art of music playing in Southern California, is centrally located in the heart of La Jolla in the Village, 7848 Ivanhoe Ave.

We offer a unique program specializing in piano, violin, guitar, voice and music theory (reading and writing music) providing personal and individualized instruction. Classes in musical theory offer students the training to learn how to read, write and understand musical compositions.

Practice Makes Perfect

The art of practicing the piano has been perfected at La Jolla Piano Institute. Our Students learn the pieces they love, ensuring they'll want to play. Practicing becomes something they look forward to; they shouldn't have to be forced.

Fun Musical Facts

Preschoolers who had keyboard training did better at math reasoning than another group that had computer training instead.

College students who had received musical training before age 12 remembered significantly more words from a list than other students.

Students who received daily music training for seven months had higher reading scores at the end than did a control group. A year later, their scores were still higher than the control groups.
